Since I figured that I've updated my blog, I made an appt for a haircut at Suki's. I've seen Amy and Sam's haircut and I love them. They had theirs cut at Suki's so I figured I'd give it a try.
I got an appt for noon with Jeremiah (I think Amy and Sam was cut by him also). Then, after getting the kids fed and prepared their napping essentials, I took off.
What an experience. They have a massage chair when washing your hair. I told Jeremiah that I wanted something trendy, easy to take care of, not boring, and most importantly, have to look good on me. hehehehe I'm so vain.. :)
So, the result you can see in the picture. What do you think??? is it ok??
I suki (japanese, meaning: like) my new haircut. :)
Went to Tropika for dinner with Huilee and Jenny. After dinner, I picked up Sharon and we carpooled to Riverwind's Club House for the "Ask Anything" Mom Night's In. I was looking forward to it. I had sent in my question, which was: How often do married couples with kids get intimate? and what do they do to spice up their love life?? hehehehehe.
So, after everyone got there, Herjit started the first round of questions, which were regarding the children. I learned a lot from other moms on how to deal with toddler/preschooler with their whining/throwing tantrum. I definitely have to talk to Simon about NOT spoiling Ava. She's a smart girl and she knows how to work her charms on Simon. She can't get away with everything with me, but she can with Simon. After the children question, we did a survey on the sex question. It was fun. I can't believe the things I put down.. HAHAHAHAHA
Then, we went into the more serious questions regarding the moms. First question was: "Has your self-image/attitude to your body been negatively affected by having children? Does anyone have any suggestions so I can be less self-conscious of my body and appearance?". This question hit very close to home. I have been complaining about my tummy to ANYONE who wants to listen for awhile. I understand about the pouch, but I can't accept the scrunched up excess skin in the middle of it. And also my hernia that made my belly button stuck out. I have been dealing with that by wearing tights that cover up to my tummy and long shirt/blouse. To add a bit confidence, I've been strutting my heels everywhere I go. I really hope that I can pay less attention to it, but it's been proven hard to do. I just hope I'll be able to get through it one of these days.
There're a lot more good questions, but I didn't feel like discussing them here. I think at the end, everyone gain something tonight. All the different perspectives from different moms with different issues really opened up a channel of communication. I felt glad that everyone stood up and gave their opinions and thoughts and experiences on the issues discussed. I'd definitely be looking forward to going to this meetup again in the future.
