Cracking Migraine

I wish.... that migraine doesn't exist in this world
I need.... a miracle drug for migraine that has no side effect whatsoever and are safe to take while breastfeeding
I want... to take a hammer and crack open my aching skull
Today... is such a bad day that I was not able to enjoy the sunshine nor my babies...

Thanks Simon for cooking and taking care of Colin while I was nursing my migraine. I still have it, but I hope that advil will do their wonder soon... please!!!!!!!!!!!

Exersaucer babies

Today we did a couple more photo shoots by moi.. :) I just love taking pictures of my babies. I asked Simon to take out the exersaucer b/c I wanted to put Colin in there, but Ava was so excited with the exersaucer and she wanted to sit inside. So, instead of Colin, we have the "big" baby hahahaha.. But, since Ava loves Colin, she finally allowed me to put Colin inside.

Today we wore pink to support "wear pink to end bullying". Ava wore her new Minnie dress, gift from grandma. She insisted on wearing her new pink boots in the house.

I think all in all, we had a pretty satisfying photo shoot today.. hahaha enjoy the pictures.. :)

Chinese Paintings

We went to Lansdown Center the other day, and we saw these paintings exhibition. It was chinese paintings, and they were painted by children. They were so beautiful. Made me want to enrol Ava into the school also.. hahahaha..

Dinner with The Tillapaugh

Am updating my blog now.. (per Tracey's request).. Tracey and Jeff stopped by today. I was so happy ... :) We chatted and I want to thank Tracey for bringing clothes for Colin.. you're so sweet!!! I really can't wait for Tracey to move back to Richmond.. I hope the house search will go well and they'll find their home soon.

We went for Sushi for dinner @ Banzai Sushi. It was so good. Food always taste better with good company, and we had great company. I just hope Jeff was not bored hearing Simon went on and on about real estate haahhahaha..

I have to put more pictures online soon. I took some this morning.. so hopefully I can get some on by tomorrow .. need to photoshop some!!!

S-P-E-L-L it out!!!

I can't believe that we're at the stage where we have to spell things out already. And how did they learn so fast????? We've only been to Mcdonalds a couple of times but Ava already knows how to say "fries" and that's her fav now. Simon and I can't say fries in front of her anymore.. we have to spell it out.. He said this to me the other day" Do you think she wants F-R-I-E-S later??"
I mean.. Come on!!! Ever since these little people come to our lives, I feel that we've changed into the following:
1. We had to tiptoe around the house when they sleep (felt like thieves sometimes haha)
2. We had to stop all the cursing b/c we don't want them to get our "bad habits" haha
3. We can basically sing all the Poohs and Strawberry Shortcake songs now
4. We've spent way too much money on their clothes which they only wear a handful of times
5. Since Colin, Simon and I have this barrier in between us when we sleep ("this barrier" can kick!! and boy, can he kick!!! my poor back.. for some reason he only kicks me!!)

There should be more.. but I can't think of any right now.. (there you go!! mommy brain!!)
I've also learned to sleep with 1 eye open (don't look at me when I sleep, you'll get a heart attack.. hahahaha I look like "mikey" from monster, inc. when he's awake haha)

Anyway, the happier side of things that we get from these little people are:
1. Their smiles melt the heart (I'm like melted ice cream now)
2. When they call you mama or papa, it's like music to the ears
3. When they goof around or copying everything you do.. you feel like you have a mini me.. haha

Of course there are many more happy things.. but again my mommy brain gets the best of me.. hahaha I forgot my name sometimes.. :)

Repetition

I can sing Pooh and Strawberry Shortcake songs in my sleep. Why?? b/c Ava likes to play the DVDs over and over and over and over again.
Every morning, you can hear her little voice kept saying "pooh pooh, pooh pooh" or "berry take, berry take" (which is strawberry shortcake).
I don't know how other moms do it, but I HAVE to go to the library and borrow some new DVDs or I'll be going crazy.. hahahaha

Extra!! Extra!!

Ava recently learned how to open her bedroom door. My God!! How did she learn all these stuff?? Anyway, she was only doing this "opening her bedroom door" during her nap time (after she woke up of course!!). But on Saturday, she did that in the morning after she woke up. I was thleeping (thinking while sleeping.. hahaha, my new made-up word), and I heard this sound like someone was trying to open our bedroom door. I kicked Simon, so he woke up and went to look. Alas, it was Ava waiting beside our bedroom door. Simon and I then contemplated if we should lock her door from outside. My mom said NO.. She said if Ava opened the door after she woke up, that means she doesn't want to sleep anymore, so we shouldn't lock her in.. hahahaha, ok mom, don't worry.. we're not going to lock her in. This morning, she did the same again, I opened my door, and she saw me and said "Ai Mama" (that means "love mama" in Mandarin). Then, she said "Apu" (translate to "diaper"), then she added " Xin" ( meaning "new"). So what she meant was.. want to change to a new diaper. hahahahaha.. how cute is that???!!! After that Simon came in, and she said "Ai Papa" ( "love papa" DUH!!). Then I asked what about "Didi"?? and she said "Ai Didi" ("Love lil bro"). Cute to the power of infinity (my nerdy side talking).

Ava is also a very good copycat. I have been doing this pouty mouth everytime when she refused to do something for me. And now, she did it too. hahahaha..
All I have to say now is "how's the mouth??" and she will do "the pout". The proofs are in the pictures. hehehehe.

We went to this restaurant for dinner last night and waited for more than 1 hour for our food. Ava was very calm when we got there and by the time the food arrived, she has already gone crazy. At the end, we had to ask them to bag all the food to go b/c she was crying up a storm and therefore Colin was also following her lead. While we were waiting for the food, I took some pictures of Colin. He's so cute. I can't get enough of him. I took "puzzles" of his face.. so don't be alarmed.. hehehehe.. I'm not psycho. Maybe just a little bit crazy about my kids.. hehehehe

Another great news in the horizon.. TRACEY IS MOVING BACK TO RICHMOND!! YEAY!!
I bet she misses me too much. That's the reason for the move.. that's my story and I'm sticking to it. hahaha... I can't wait.. hehehehe

Picture Perfect

Nothing much going on, Ava still has her runny nose, Colin is still fussy.
One funny thing that happened last night was, Colin was "talking" so much. I had it on video. Hopefully Simon will get it online soon. It's so funny. He just kept going and going and going. :)

He's crying right now as I typed. He stopped when he sucks on his "gloves". hehehehe I'm such a bad mom..

oh, yesterday, Ava and I were twins. She saw my bandana and wanted me to put one on her too. She's such a princess.. hahahaha

AARARGGHHH@!!!

I want to tear my hair out and I want to shout on the top of my lung.. Ava is sick.. She has a runny nose and has been asking me to clean her nose for her.. These are no problems.. but when both Ava and Colin started to cry at the same time.. I really want to put my head to the wall.
They are cute and stuff.. but I can't stand it if both of them started to cry real loud. Then, Simon was short with me also.. So I really really want to kill someone!!!!

Hopefully the day will get better..

P.S. I feel that I'm getting the runny nose also..

Chinese New Year @ Lian & Rob's House

This morning, Ava did something so outrageous but funny.. :)
She has this doll that her 3rd auntie gave her. She likes to carry her around the way us adults carry a baby. So. she was carrying her baby as usual and then she did something unexpected. She carried the baby in one arm and then tried to open her shirt up and was going to put the baby like she's nursing. I can't believe what I saw. I kinda screamed a little bit (unconsciously hahaha), and so she stopped her action. But I was so surprised. She must have seen the way I nursed Colin and was trying to imitate me.

Ate Mcdonald for lunch.. Ava is getting very good at saying "Fries". She was so excited when we arrived at Mcdonald and kept saying "fries, fries, fries". She loves her fries.

At 3pm we went to Lian & Rob's house for Chinese New Year Celebration (yes, we're still celebrating, and you'll probably keep reading about the celebration b/c we celebrate CNY for 15 days.. hahahahaha). Lian is such a model wife. She cooks, she bakes, she sews. I don't think there's anything she doesn't do. She has a spread of foods on the kitchen's island when we got there. There're Curry Beef Puff, Pizza Roll, Quiches, Pineapple tarts, Peanut tarts, Almond tarts, She also made Cheese cake. Elisa brought her "beef rendang", Serene brought pie, we brought sparkling apple juice (I know.. mine is nothing compared to what others brought, I just don't have time to cook or bake.. hahaha). Later Sharon came and brought chicken wings and fried rice cakes with her. Meg brought alcoholic beverages (YOOHOO). I had some red wines (thinking or hoping that it'll knock Colin off a little bit tonight.. hahaha).

The kids were having fun and playing together.. UNTIL.. Ava fell and bumped her head (kinda like that 5 little monkeys story.. 5 little monkey jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped her head, momma called the doctor and the doctor said.. no more monkey jumping on the bed). Well, she didn't actully jump. She was drinking water while sitting on the sofa, but b/c her dress was really slippery.. I think she slipped and bumped her head on the floor. Poor baby, she was crying so hard and holding on to Simon so tight. She doesn't even want to show me her face. She just pressed her face on Simon's shoulder and kept crying. I think she was embarrased b/c she fell and everyone was looking at her.

Then, Colin was no better also. He wanted me to hold him all the time. I tried to put him down a couple of times, but he just wouldn't let me. He cried when I put him down. I think he was cranky also b/c we have been taking him in and out of the carseat. When Ava was napping, Simon and I went around to look at some of the condos, so we had to go in and out of the car thus, in and out of the carseat for Colin. Another poor baby.. :)

We're planning to go home already b/c Ava was crying. But then, suddenly she stopped and was happily munching away a stick of pocky. KIDS!!!
So we stayed and Desmon took a group picture. I didn't have the picture now b/c they haven't emailed to me yet.. maybe later if I got the pictures, I'll post them.

Around the World Event - Kong Hey Fat Choy

Lulu Ladies have this event called Around the World Event where we will "visit" a country each month and will do something related to that country. First stop is China and since it falls on the Chinese New Year period, Sharon and I suggested to Susan that we can probably do dimsum. We had rsvp total of around 30 people (included kids and husband). So, Sharon called and booked the "Shi-Art" restaurant at the Richmond Center Mall. Susan had to cancel her rsvp b/c Rob took her truck to go skying and left Susan and the kids stranded at home (he also took her purse that she left in her truck with him.. hahaha).

We had around 8 families attended the dimsum. We booked a private room with 3 tables. It was fun. I gave the kids some red pocket with chocolate money inside. Then, after we're done and when everyone's leaving, I gave each family a goodie bag with some chinese new year's treats inside. I hope they enjoyed it. For this event, Ava and I dressed up in our RED Cheong Sam dresses. Ava is a knee length Cheong sam dress that grandma gave her. Mine, I got it yesterday for this event hahahaha. It was so RED.. and I'll only wear it once a year on Chinese New Year hahahah

Valentine's Bobblehead

Went to Christy's house for Valentine's Bobblehead craft. I bought 2 crafts but didn't do them b/c I had Ava and Colin with me. I can't do it with the 2 of them sticking to me like super glue hahaha. I actually don't know why I kept buying all these crafts. The penguin hats that I bought last time.. were still in their package b/c I didn't have a sewing machine and I didn't have time to do them. So, I'd probably keep accumulating all these crafts and never make them at the end.

After dinner, I asked Simon to bring Ava to Aberdeen Centre because they have the sidewalk sale where they have booths selling lots of Chinese New Year stuff. But when we got there, they were not there anymore. I was disappointed, but I was pretty happy to be able to take some picture of Ava with the Chinese New Year theme background. We had some bubble tea and then went home.

We had hotpot for dinner and lunch today. Pretty good. We had shrimp, oyster, fish balls, pork and beef, and of course the napa cabbage and bok choy. It's pretty good. I ate so much.. I'm so full.
For dessert, the leftover cupcakes.. I still have one more left, might finish it tonight before bed.. oh yeah, I'm getting fatter and fatter b/c I'm not watching what I put in my mouth.. hahahaha

Cupcakes

Finally!!! I have been wanting to get the cupcakes at Aberdeen sine Monday. Since I was busy on Monday and cannot wait for them to open, I didn't get it. After workout today, I went to Daiso with Elisa & then groceries, finally to the cupcakes. They have a couple of boxes on display with a sign "a day old $5", Elisa & I were so excited. The price for the freshly made ones are $13.50 (6 cupcakes per box). We got one box each.
I must say that I thought they will be very sweet, but they are actually not bad at all.

Pork Roasts

Didn't know what to cook today. Finally decided to cook udon for lunch. Ava loved it.
Then for dinner, I decided to cook pork roast. I found this recipes from internet, allrecipes.com, I didn't have all the ingredients though, supposed to have cinnamon applesauce, since I don't have that, I just subs it with pomegranate juice.. haha.
Since I have 2 pork loins, I put in my crockpot to use also. The 2nd pork loin, I put into the crock pot for tomorrow lunch. Also found the ingredients from internet. It's called the Garlic Pork Roast. Put in sweet potatoes also.
The dinner tonight was the pomegranate juice roast with green beans and mashed potatoes. I forgot to take the pictures.
Taste: pretty good, considering it's my first time. hahaha

Now watching " How to lose a guy in 10 days " on TV...

Pineapple Tarts Bake-Off

Elisa invited us to go to her house for pineapple tarts bake off today. Lian suggested the event and decided to do it at Elisa's house. After the workout in the morning, I quickly went home, showered, fed Ava and Colin and myself. Then, put Ava to bed before heading out to Elisa's house with Colin. Got there early, Elisa and Lian and Meg and Serene were still having lunch at Hi-Genki. I waited for a little while and Colin started to scream (like usual) haha

It was so fun to see everyone again especially the little ones. Serene looks good at 5 months.. go go go mama!! After chitchatting for awhile, we finally made it to the kitchen. Lian started intructing and doing all the work while other moms tended to their babies and drinking apple juice haha.. I really want to help but Colin didn't let me. He wanted me to sling him at all time.
I tried to help as much as I can.. I want to apologize to all the ladies because I was not a big help.
I must say that Lian is really good at baking. She seems to know so many different recipes. I like the molds she has. I might try to ask someone to get it for me from Singapore. The pineapple tarts were delicious. Thanks Elisa for giving me the first batch of the tarts.

We baked until around 4:30. I had to go home b/c I have another baby waiting for me to cook for her.. haha.
Luckily I prepared the chicken already before I left, so all I need to do was hand-shredded it and cooked my favourite "chicken noodle" aka "mie ayam kumango" hahahaha

Saw "Fantastic 4" on TV at night before dozing off.

Cook Off

Didn't do much today, so for dinner, I prepared some dishes. I cooked watercress soup, stir fry taiwan cabbage with shrimp and eggs. Hui lee also cooked the creamy broccoli soup. She also baked this apple caramel pastry?? I think this is what it's called. It's pretty good. The soup was kinda fulfilling though, after drinking the soup, I was basically almost too full to eat (but I ate of course) hahahaha

The Yellow Dress

Ava picked the yellow dress today. This is the dress my dad gave her. It was very valuable b/c my dad never buys dress for any of his children, but he actually picked this particular dress for Ava without any help from my mom. I guess Grandpa really loves Ava.. hahaha

We went to the Steveston Walk & Coffee at 11am. It was so nice, I thought we're going to have 20 something people, but it turned out, only Anne-louise, Angela & Mattias, Herjit & Ronan, Becky with Griffin & Bella, Shelina with Jordan, Lynda came with Taran & Ainsley, Terri with Nicholas. Later on, we were joined by Christy & Eric with Quinn & Jett. It was really fun. We're talking about the match the mama game. So many people wanted to know who the gogo dancer mama is. hahahaha..
Had KFC for lunch, and Ava spilled the gravy on her dress, so we had to take it off.

OK OK.. After getting a lot of hate mails about my poopy pictures.. I'm now writing another entry to put the poopy behind.. hahahaha

Colin and Ava were so cute today. I dressed them in Corduroy. They are my corduroy babies. hahahaha

Colin and I went to the Steveston Library today for baby story time. It was pretty good. We might go again next week. After story time, us lulu ladies went to Starbucks for a cuppa joe. Kathy, Angela and Tanis were there. Then 2 other moms joined us.

So, right now I have Colin in my sling and Simon's out for poker night. I just hope that Colin can sleep soundly tonight.. He's sleeping now on my sling (which I don't want him to). I have no choice b/c if he's not sleeping, he's crying.. so I'd prefer him sleeping.

I did my mama match game today. It was so funny.. all the facts of the mamas. I don't know if anyone can match my fact to me. But last I heard, I'm leading now. 8 correct out of 25. Yoohoo!!
