Watermaniacs!!!

Today I went to see my doctor for my regular checkups.

He asked "How did you manage to gain 5 lbs in 20 day??"

I said "I don't know. I only eat fruits". (wondering if i can fool him)

He asked " Did you eat rice?"

I said " I ate sushi last week" (actually, I ate sushi last week AND yesterday)

He asked "What about Spaghetti? Potato? Noodle? Ice cream?"

I said " only a little bit of each" (actually, when he asked me, all I can think of was: lots of spaghetti, fries, mee goreng, my skinny cow chocolate fudge popsicle)

He asked " Do you still do exercise?"

I said "Yeah, I'm very active. After this, I'm going to watermania with Ava" (I am active!!)

I asked "Can I still exercise this September?"

He said "Of course"

I asked "Maybe I retain a lot of water this time. I think my feet are swollen!!" (still trying to fool him)

He said "That's possible" (WOW.. did I really fool him???)

He added "But 5 lbs in 20 days is still too much Elly" (Darn.. !!)

So, after seeing my doc, I went to Watermania (I ate 2 slices of wheat bread, my breakfast. on my way there.. haha). Met Elisa (and Viola), Sharon (and Annabelle) and Meg (and Miwa) there. It was pretty fun, but quite crowded. There seemed to be a Summer camp sort of things going on. Last week for Summer, next week, schools are starting again. Sharon took some pictures of everyone and emailed to us. She's very nice. Everyone was impressed with Ava b/c she's taking shower herself (I just applied the body wash for her.. hehe).

We went to "Old Spaghetti Factory" for lunch. I ordered a children's spaghetti dinner with meatballs and meat sauce for Ava with salad and milk. I myself ordered an appetizer of Popcorn shrimp (maybe I feel a bit guilty after my doc's appt). She was so messy eating the spaghetti, luckily I brought her rubber bib. Helped a little bit.

Ava had a late nap today because of all the excitement. We then went to eat at the Taiwanese Beef Noodle place. She was eating the seaweed kelp and getting some "moustache".. haha. She loves her noodles of course. I ordered a "ja jang mian" but I waited for so long and didn't arrive. So I finally cancel the order. Was pretty pissed and hungry. So, I ended up not eating dinner today. Who knows, maybe I'll be lighter tomorrow. hahaha

Goodbye August, Tracey and Owen!! Hello September!!

Today is a scorcher. I felt so freaking hot.. hahaha.. And after the stroller class, I was on fire. Needed to cool down so bad. We went to Pajo's Fish and Chips after the class. Today is also the last meetup for Tracey and Owen. I'm so going to miss them. Ava was eating a lot of fish & chips today. She even learned to dip the chips into ketchup. Funny girl.. I took so many of her pictures that she started to say "take that camera away from me" (see pic). The mamas on the picture are: Me of course, Lea-Anne (son: Nathan), Tracey (son: Owen) and Terri (son: Nicholas).

This afternoon, Simon went with Huilee and Jenny to the bowling alley. I stayed at home b/c I don't feel like going. So, Ava and I spent some quality times together. We read books, watched TV. She "helped" me fold laundry. We ate green plums, grapes, banana. Then, after dinner, Ava and I shared a minigo yogurt, banana flavor (it's actually for her, but she didn't finish it, so I had to ).

At Minoru Park with Miwa

Today, Ava and I went to meet Miwa and Meg at Richmond Center Mall. After that we walked to the Minoru Park's playground and let Ava and Miwa played there. Miwa is so cute. She is half Japanese and half Caucasian. She has the John Travolta's chin dimple and she has curly hair and long eye lashes. I managed to capture some cute pictures of Ava and Miwa playing. She loves her SLIDES!!!! Ava ate her lunch at the park. While she was eating, she was doing a lot of different expressions. Don't ask me why, she just likes to do these kinds of crazy things.

After that, it was my turn to eat, so we went back to the Mall. I ate KFC's popcorn chicken again, and of course Ava had to have some also. She ate and then she wiped her mouth just like a lady.. hahaha..

I want Fries and Nuggets!! Don't give me Fillet!!

Today we had brunch at Ginger & Garlic (used to be Honolulu cafe). I ordered an Indonesian mee goreng with fried chicken and egg. Simon order beef tenderloin with fried udon. Ava loves my mee goreng. I was a bit disappointed, but it was not too bad.

Spent my whole afternoon doing my accounting. Wow, I finished accounting from June, July and August. I can't believe that I have ignored my accounting for 3 months. Not to mention all the statements I had to re-organize. I found out that one of my credit card has been charging me something called "24hourAssistant" for 13 bucks a month. I remembered I rejected the offer last time when they called. This means WAR!! Have to call them and give them hell tomorrow.

Dinner at Mcdonald's again this weekend. Ava was so funny. Simon ordered a fish fillet sandwich for her, and I ordered chicken nuggets. She loves the fries, so of course she was ignoring the fillet. He tried to attack her with it, but to no avail. Later, he put some nuggets (that has already been shredded a bit) near the fries. She took it as fries and put in her mouth.. Luckily she liked it. If not, she will throw it up (poor fillet). Huilee took some videos of the process, but she held the camera phone the wrong way, so now it's showing as sideways, so I didn't want to post it here. Ava is a really opinionated girl. She knows what she likes and dislikes. She doesn't like the fillet, and no matter how many times we tried to trick her to eat it, she always knows and refuses. Well, at least she likes her nuggets and fries.

Casual Friday

Didn't do much also today. Cooked peanut soup so Ava can eat with rice and broccolli. She loves peanuts. She received some presents yesterday from Huilee's friend, Jenny. A big Pooh and Piglet, and a smaller Pooh. She loves them. I took some pictures where she posed with the dolls. Her manner was not that pretty though.. I need to teach her to close her legs when she sat for photograph, or for anything for that matter.

Camo Thursday

Today Ava is wearing her camo outfit to the stroller class, I just want to put the pictures online b/c I think she's the cutest thing ever.

She was pretending to put "off" on her arms and legs. She was also hiding in her tent when I was pretending to look for her. Awww.. have i said she's cute yet today?

Is it normal for a mom to think her daughter is the cutest???

Slow Saturday

Didn't do much today. We went to eat dimsum at the Fisherman's terrace. Ava loves the spare rib and peanut congee, and the fried shrimp balls. She at almost 2 shrimp balls. She also likes the spring roll's skin. We ate until we're so full. Then went to get some fruits and went home. Ava went to sleep, I watched "coffee prince" episode 2. Still waiting for other episode to finish download. It's a pretty funny drama. Then, watched "No Reservation".. I must say, I didn't like it. It's not as good as I thought.

We went to Mr. Lai's house today to take the picture of his sofa. We're going to help him sell it on Craigslist. Ava was so happy there b/c she got more things to eat. Mrs. Lai served some bread from the King's bakery, some sesame glazed cashew nuts, and some cookies from Taiwan. Ava ate them all. She loves the nuts. Then she was facsinated by their cat. She's seen lots of cat's picture in her book but never the real ones. She went "meow meow" and pointed at the cat. So cute.. :)

Yeah, that's about it.. we had ramen for dinner, and I'm so fat. I have to make sure I lose 4 lbs before this coming Friday, b/c I'll have my doc's appt that day.. Shoot!!

Heavenly Massage

Like usual, my day started with my Tuesday stroller class. I didn't bring Ava with me today b/c the sky was kinda gloomy and I was afraid that it'll rain, which it did. Not heavy rain, but drizzle. Then after class, I went to the dollar store to get some papers and a crayon for Ava. But when I got home, I found out that she's been coloring our wall with the color pencils. If I want her to play with the crayon, that means I have to watch her like a HAWK. She is very fast.

Recently, she's been saying a lot of "H". I don't know why she skips the whole beginning of the Alphabets and starts with an "H" instead of "A", but hey, I won't complain. It is still a letter. hahahahaha.

After Ava went to nap, I went to get my massage at the Tao Day Spa. Oh, god. It was heavenly. I felt so good after the 1 hour hot oil Aromatherapy massage. I'm very oily on my whole body though, but it's worth the 90 bucks I paid. I felt so refresh and so so so good. I'm still in my heavenly massage blissful state of mind now, and I want to keep it at least till the rest of the day. Yummy.............

Chefs to the Field

This morning, we went to eat breakfast at Starbucks @ Steveston. I ordered a chocolate croissant, and they warmed it up for me. It was so yummy. I can eat chocolate croissant everyday. It was a bit rainy, and we're afraid that it'll spoil the "Chefs at the Field" event that's going on in Terra Nova. Went home, and Simon and Ava played a little bit of Wii.

We left home at 11 for the event. Luckily it was not bad, the weather. I was afraid that if it rains, we won't be able to enjoy the food and the community garden. We bought 6 tickets, $3 each, to sample 6 different kinds of foods from 9 different restaurants.

I took a bunch of pictures of the veggies and flowers planted in the community garden. If you notice the picture I put on, in the middle of the compilation of veggies and flowers pictures, there's a huge eggplant. Clad in purple and green, Ava does look like a huge and cute eggplant.. hahahahaha.

After the event, we went home and Ava took a nap. For dinner, we went to the Macdonalds near the airport. Simon and Ava was waving and looking at the taking off of airplanes and wishing the passengers bon voyage.

The Invasion of Moms and Babies

We didn't go to our music class this morning, instead, we went to the diaper bag's tags event. Luckily the weather was good. At first, if the weather was wet and rainy, we're going to move the event from London Farm to my house. Thank god the weather was good. I can't imagine squeezing 20 something people into my house, not to mention all the babies and kids. We had fun but I didn't get the chance to actually make the bag tags. I bought 4 tags, 2 for me and 2 for Chi. I got a flower for Ava, and a blue butterfly for baby. Then I got a yellow star for Tyler and a pink flower for his baby sister... hahaha.. It'll look so cute with their pictures in it.

I'll try to find a good picture of Tyler and make his for Chi first. For the baby, I guess Chi or Mom will have to make it for her. I also show the finished product in here.

High Tea !!

Today, Tracey and I went to a sample sale for baby Mexx line and also the Deux par deux collection line. We heard that we can get dirt cheap brand name clothes for baby, like around 3-5 bucks. Well, it's not. They still costs more than 10 bucks, but I did get a cute skort for Ava. It's so cute, I can't help it. Then we're supposed to leave and meet our friends at a tea place. Instead, we got side tracks and went to another sample sale for jewelry.. hahaha. So, we went in and got a bunch of stuff.

Then we met Terri and Susan at a tea place called "Secret Garden". The atmosphere was so nice and cozy. I had the secret garden's secret tea (something like that) decaf of course. Then a 3-tier tray came and we have lots of small, cute, delicious treats. I forgot to take picture of them, but I did buy some for Simon, so I took one picture for you to see. Beauty Day

I cut Ava's hair yesterday before her bath. It was so cute b/c I cut the banks so it looks slightly crooked. This morning, we set up a tent for her, it's a ladybug tent. She just went inside and doesn't want to come out.. hahahaha So cute.

Then I went shopping after Ava went to nap. I bought some clothes for Owen (Tracey's son), Ava and baby. They are having a sale at "Please Mum" and "Children's Place". I also bought some clothes for myself.. yipee. Then I bought a small popcorn chicken for my lunch, bought some mini muffins and 2 Ham & Cheese croissant (Cob's bread ran out of Chocolate Croissant already).

Got home, chopped sweet onion, 2 red pepper, 1 green pepper, and 1 purple pepper for my spaghetti sauce. Was going to cook it before I left to pedicure, but Tracey called and she wanted to pick me up, so I had to abandon all those after chopping and changed.

Went with Tracey to "Tao Day Spa" for our pedicures.. It was so good. I haven't done this for the longest time and it just felt so good to pamper my feet. I chose a color that was called "after sex", I didn't know about it until they pointed it out for me. Tracey chose bright pink. They look so cute on her. My feet felt great after the massage and hot towel wrap. I might get addicted.. hahahaha.

I did make an appointment for next Tuesday to do a hot oil massage. I can't wait. This is for pregnant woman, so it's safe. It'll be a one hour massage... yippee!!!!

Petting Zoo

Last night, I went to Tracey's house and watched "Dreamgirls" with her and Terri. It was fun. Just 3 of us, and we talked and chatted while watching the movie. They asked me a lot about shows I watched growing up. Then when Tracey found out that I am a Buddhist, she wondered if I can take her to the Kwan Im temple at Steveston. I told her of course. Anyone can go there. She was not sure b/c she saw the "private property and no trespass" sign in front of the temple.

Today we went to the London Heritage Farm. They have some arts and crafts, antiques for sales, and petting zoo. I met Lian, Rob and Miles there, and also Nava and Adi. It was pretty good despite the light rain. Ava had so much fun looking at the animals. They have 2 puppies, 1 pig, lots of rabbits, lots of baby ducks, 2 ponies, 1 llama, 1 horse and her calf. Ava loves the ducks and rabbits, maybe because they are small and there're lots of them. She can't get enough of looking at them. We tried to make her pet the pony, but she got scared. She then tried to feed the pony with hays. It's so fun watching her interacted with the animals.

After that we went to eat Taiwanese food at a restaurant called "well tea". Went home and put Ava to nap, then went out again to buy food for Tomo. I bought a tent in the shape of Ladybug for Ava. Haven't put it up yet. I'll take picture after I put it up. I think it'll be fun for her to stay in there and pretend to be camping.

Oh, there's this 4th grader across from our house who likes to come and play with Ava. I think she's probably lonely. She comes to our house everyday. I just don't know or understand what she could possibly plays or talks with Ava about. But she seems to be missing a father figure also b/c she likes Simon a lot.. hahaha Oh, well!!

We tried a new restaurant for dinner tonight. It was pretty good. It's called "Boston Steakhouse" but it's actually HK style steakhouse. I had lobster and meat sauce spaghetti. Simon had the lobster in cream sauce linguini. Huilee has the pepper and bacon penne. Overall, the food rated pretty good. Ava loves the spaghetti. She ate until her hands and mouth are covered with spaghetti sauce. So cute.. but quite dirty.

Tea & Shop

Today I had some mommies friends over after our stroller workout class. We had some fruits (grapes, strawberries, and grape tomatoes) and tea. Susan and Tracey were so nice. I'm so glad they came over. We're just chatting and yapping away. I also showed them around the house, and they liked the decorations and style. After they left, I rested for awhile, then Tracey called and asked if I want to go out. So, we went to Daiso and Discount Diapers (I bought a robeez for baby, and a Padoodles for Ava). It's so nice.

Tomorrow is the my doc's appt again. Hopefully I don't gain too much. I will prepare a bread in the car.. for after doc's. hahahahahaha After that I have to take Ava to music class.

Hm.. maybe I'll buy some popcorn chicken afterwards.. hahahahahaha I'm so bad.

Sad Movie always makes me CRY

I'm sad today. I felt like a failure. I hate people, I have dogs, and I even hate children. I don't know if it's my hormones or it's just me. I don't want neighbours to come, I don't want the neighbour kids to come and I don't want Ava to go out. I just felt that she's been going out too much, she doesn't like to stay at home. She always wants to go out. Not wanting to stay home. My neighbour also likes to feed her junks like a bag of chocolate cookies, sweets, etc. I don't like that. Is that abnormal? I mean at the end of the day, it's me who has to raise her, to teach her. They just want to spoil her. Maybe I overthink all these, but I just can't help it.

And I'm so tired. I feel like I don't have the energy to take care of Ava. She's just too energetic for me. Always want to run around, always want to play, always want to eat, and always throwing tantrums. God. I'm so tired. And I have disagreement with Simon. So now we're pretty antsy around each other. I hate EVERYONE.

Sick Puppy

I'm as sick as a dog. Started on Thursday Night. I felt that my throat are sore and burning. The next day, I woke up with desert-dry throat and burning sensation inside my throat. I drank and drank and drank gallons of water but to no avail. So, I went to see my doctor. I told him my symptom, and guess what he asked me..

1. The inside of your throat looks normal.

my thought: NO WAY!!

2. Did you eat anything unusual?

my answer: ehm.. no.

my thought: does popcorn chicken count as unusual?

3. Did you talk more than usual?

my answer: ehm.. no.

my thought: huh? what does that have to do with me talking moore than usual? It's not like I do that, maybe I just sang a bit too much children songs for Ava, but that's about it.

4. Well, there's nothing wrong with you, but if you want to, you can take Tylenol.

my answer: oh.. ok.

Then, I asked him these questions:

5. Can I take those throat soother candy (i know it's called lozenge, but I don't know how to pronounce it, so I just said throat soother candy)

His answer: But those are sweet.

my thought: WHAT THE????

Then he said:

6. You can eat some ice if you want to soothe your throat.

my answer : oh.. ok..

my thought: ICE?? WHAT THE????

So, after that, I went home.. still feeling kinda miffed b/c I still think I'm sick.

Then, I felt sicker and sicker by the hour. And the next day, I have sniffles and coughs.
I really felt like going to the doctor and again and tell him.. "SEE!!! I'M REALLY SICK"

"I have green phlem, and I coughs", "You're SO wrong doctor!!!!!"

But since it was Saturday.. the doctor's office is closed.. hm, maybe I can call and leave a voice message for him..just to prove that I'm right.

Then, Sunday, I have nasal voice because of the flu. Yes, I have FLU.

I was afraid that Monday all my flu and stuff will be gone, maybe I should make a home video and show them to my doc. Am I pyscho? I feel kinda psychotic. Simon kept saying that I'm making this up, that I'm not sick and just want his attention. To answer him, I snorted up my mucus and showed him. I know it's gross, but I had to prove that I'm really sick.
