24 Hour Relay - Start

Today is the 24 hour relay for our lulu ladies and babies to raise money for Laurie and family. We went and had pancake breakfast at 9am at Christy's club house. So many people came out for this event it was really good. After the breakfast, we made the t-shirt for our kids. I made one for Ava and Colin. After that was the BBQ. Took Ava home for nap and then went back to the carnivals. Ava got her arm painted by Christy. She wanted butterfly. :)

I went to Laura's house and played a little bit with Andre. Andre's so cute and he was very curious about Colin. He kept touching his face and wanted to kiss him. He also wanted to bite Colin's feet... hahahaha.. so funny.

It was a pretty tiring day. I did my walk at 4pm and then Simon did his at 8:30pm and 9:30pm.

In the mood for "classically goth" diva

Had a meetup today at the London Landings to do the Father's day's craft. We're the first one to arrive. It was really calm and peaceful (maybe b/c Colin was sleeping also). Ava and I strolled around the landings looking at birds. She looked so cute with her Tigger backpack. Colin was awake after awhile and was smiling at me. I can actually see his tooth showing in his smiley pictures. He has another tooth on the verge of coming out.

I managed to get the crafts done on spot, which was really rare. I still have a couple of crafts unopened in their package. This craft was pretty easy. I painted Ava's hand and then printed it on the paper that comes with the frame. It was a bit tricky with Colin's, b/c he was holding it in a fist. At last we got them done. Then, I went and chitchatted with my friends.

Simon was so touched when I showed him the crafts, esp when he read the writings on it.

So, around 3pm, I went and got my manicure and pedicure at this place where I usually get my eyebrows threaded. It was pretty good and the price is good ($45 for both). I was feeling a little Goth and wanted to get black manicure. But since black only comes in matte finish, I opted for the purplish black (I forgot the name) where it looks black for afar, but when the sun shines, you'll see some purple bling bling. I think it looks pretty good. Then, for my pedicure, I was feeling something classic, so I went with "Brisbane Bronze". Thus, my "classically goth" diva comes from.

Mix and Match Disaster

Tried to bake chicken for lunch today. I didn't really have any recipe in mind, and I just want to make sure that we have something for lunch. So, I defrosted some chicken thighs, and started to throw stuff in. First, I finely chopped some parsley, then added some galanga powder (some kind of spice), since I want to make sure it's not dry, I added some korean wine I have in my fridge, and added some bulgoki sauce. Hahahaha, it is officially a fusion dish, but I can't be sure it's a fuse of what and what. I think it's Korean and Indonesian.

The result, Ava loves it, but Simon was giving me this "look". At dinner time, he suggested that I added this package of ready made spices for chicken that he brought back from Malaysia to kinda give it a little bit more "KICK". So, I did that, and now my chicken just tasted weird.. hahahahaha
Oh, well.. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose... :)

Happy Birthday Huilee and Yung

Noticed that Colin's 2nd tooth is coming out after our stroller workout. I can't believe he's going to have 2 teeth soon.. haha

Went to Daiso with Tracey today. We (SHE) bought a lot of stuff.. hehehe, then, we continued our retail therapy in Richmond Center. It's the 2nd time for us to buy panties together.. hahaha

Then, it was time to cook my meatball. Followed the recipes, but I noticed my meatballs were a little dry. Hm... maybe I overbaked them. It's supposed to be Huilee's Birthday dinner. I was hoping that it won't taste that bad. She said it was not bad, but she actually preferred the spaghetti that I've always made (also from scratch). Hm, I wonder if I can be in that show "throwdown with Bobby Flay" then.. I might win. Anyway, I personally thought it's not bad. I used fusilli instead of spaghetti. It looked pretty.. hahahaha..

Bored, so I made meatballs..

Took a bunch of pictures of my babes today. :) Can probably tell that I'm bored.
While I was taking pictures of my kids, Simon took pictures of his garden. He's very proud of his garden b/c of all the blooms we have right now. When we first moved into the house, the garden was not that well taken care of by the previous owner, but then, Simon started to do a lot of gardening and so we have a pretty garden now. Last year, he put a lot of plant food and therefore the flowers have been blooming like crazy and they are sooo pretty.

Made meatballs later on for tomorrow's lunch. I saw this episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay (he's the iron chef america, just in case if you don't know).. Anyway, this episode, he challenged an italian restaurant in Long Island that supposedly serves the BEST meatballs. I believe the restaurant was called Morini's Cuisine. Bobby usually wins the battle, but this time, he lost. So, I went online and searched for the recipe and found it on Food network.. hurray!!

So, today I went grocery shopping for ingredients and made the meatballs first. I'm going to cook the sauce and the noodle tomorrow. .. I can't wait.. :)

Simon fed Colin an apple today. Not really the whole apple, but the core. He was sucking on the apple and wanted to hold it. It was so cute and funny.. :)

US Memorial Day Sale, HERE WE COME!!!

Today we decided to head to US for the US Memorial Day Sale. YOOHOO!!!
We left home around 9am b/c with babies and all the STUFF we had to bring.. our departure time kept delaying. :)

So, we arrived and then set out for lunch at Olive Garden. Haven't been to Olive garden for the longest time. Fed Colin in the car, and then waited for the restaurant to open.. hahahaha, yeah we got there around 10:40 and the restaurant opens at 11am. :)

Started shopping around noon. The outlet was packed. Bought a lot of the kids' stuff, but at the end, didn't really get anything for us. Ok, I bought a couple of leggings, but that's it.

Colin was ok on our way there, but on our way home, he started crying. You can see the difference between Colin and Ava's stuff.. :)

Mr. Raccoon

We've been having this raccoon problem in our neighbourhood. When we arrived home from dinner, we saw one digging on our garbage and then when our car approached, he ran to our neighbour's garden and stopped there. I managed to take 2 pictures of Mr. Raccoon here.

It's been a problem b/c these raccoons kept digging on our trash cans. They can actually open the trash cans. So smart... So, Simon started to keep our garbage inside the garage instead of out.

Birthday Bash & Playdate

Went to Matthew's Birthday party today. It was held at the Richmond Family Place. It was really nice. They have a big yard and a huge jumping castle. Sheila, Patrick and Jeremy were there also. Ava had a blast playing and when it was time for cake, she was so impatient that she actually waited behind Ernest for her cake. :) The party started at 10:30 and we got home around 12:30. Quickly put Ava to nap b/c she had another playdate at 2pm.

It was a couple of people at first, but then we had some cancellation, so at the end, it was only Sharon and Annabelle. We played the jump and slide, and then went to the backyard for some running around and dog chasing. :)

Annabelle were kissing Colin and pulling at the dogs. Colin seemed to be bored though. We then had lunch with Sharon, Stephen and Annabelle at the Pearl Castle. I liked my dinner, but Huilee and Simon didn't like theirs.

it's the Tea Jelly Mousse Cake.
Love the taste of the tea, but I think the Jelly is too sweet. :)

Went to Ikea for breakfast and also gave 2 big bags of clothes to Big brother in exchange of a 50 dollars gift card for Ikea that needs to be spent in 2 days (today and tomorrow). So, Huilee and us went and got shopping. :)

I bought some kitchen stuff, she bought her head board.

Playdate

Today we had the inflatable jump and slide playdate. I invited some moms to this playdate,and the ones who made it were: Tracey & Owen, Kerry & Matthew & Madelyn, and Sheila & Jeremy. I put out a feast of cakes for us moms, and some goldfish and grapes for the little ones. :)

Ava loves the jump and slide. Owen was hesitant at first, but later on he was ok and bouncing in it too. Matthew didn't want to go in at first, but he was very much active after warming up to it. I think it was a great playdate. We got to talk and the kids got to release their energy.

Poor Owen threw up in the middle of the playdate. He was fine for awhile and then asked Tracey to take him home. Poor Owen. Turned out he might have been sick.. But don't worry Tracey.. We're all fine. :)

The cakes were a hit. Everyone loves them. I'm glad that my marble cake was ok too. Huilee said it doesn't taste like what she made (which was true), but it's not that bad.. it's edible.. hahahahaa Sheila and Kerry took some cakes home with them.

It was a great day. I'm looking forward to more playdates.. :)

Sooo pretty....

Went to Colin's doc's appointment today. Seemed like he's underweight.. not by much.. around 1 lb. The doc asked us to come back in a month. Hopefully he'll gain more by then. I figured that he was recently sick and also just started eating rice cereal for 2 days, so that's probably why. He still doesn't want to take formula though.. (*sigh*). Went and grabbed lunch at Parker place, also stopped by Sav-On Food to get some ingredients for my marble cake. Yeap.. I'm going to bake a cake today. A Chocolate Orange Marble Cake!!!

Huilee brought home more cakes today. A Trio Chocolate Cake and A Raspberry Mousse Cake. Soooo YUMMY!!! I love both of these cakes.

Cake & Crabcakes

Yesterday we had Salmon for dinner and today I wanted to do Crabcakes.
Huilee brought home a strawberry mousse cake. The top of the cake was so pretty. She torched the top with those cake torch that you see on TV on food network. Sooooo Cool!!!!

So, I made my crabcakes after I got back from Tracey's house for playdate. We had the eggless banana bread there and it was delicious. Ava can't get enough of it, she kept eating and eating.. I'll have to get the recipe from Tracey.

My crabcakes were delicious. I tried to plate it and make it looked pretty (again.. watching too much food network).
After dinner, we ate the strawberry cake.. Ava loved it as you can see from her picture. She got really goofy afterwards though, playing with Huilee's chef's hat.. :)

One Cabinet Down....

Organized my cabinet today. Since I got my tupperware and stuff, I figure it's time to actually organize my cabinet.. and VOILA!!! It looks so tidy.. :)

Yan and Eddie came by today to play. I asked Yan if she wants to go to Seattle outlet with us this coming Monday, and she's not sure. So, she brought this picture of a Polo shirt she wants and asked me to get it for her.. :)

No cake today.. :)

Mr. Hot Pants

My lil guy was dressed in a cute hot pants last night. He just looks too cute to NOT take his pictures.. so here we go.. :)

Went out with Tracey today. We went to lunch at Tri-ty restaurant and then we went to lansdowne mall. I went without any kids.. so WOOHOO!!!!

Colin has been getting really good at crawling. And he loves playing peek-a-boo.
Just now Simon was playing peek-a-boo with him and he laughed so hard.
I also noticed a sliver of tooth coming up on the bottom gum... uh oh!!

Open House

We went to open houses today. Since my parents might move here, we figure we can go around and look at the houses on the market now. I must say, all the houses we went to were pretty crappy. Some seemed really nice outside, but when we went inside, they were old. I really think in order to have a good resale value for your house, one really needs to take care of it. For example, our house is around 16 years old, but b/c the previous owners took pretty good care of it, it looks new.
We're taking good care of it now too.. I have big plans for my house.. :)
I definitely want to redo the master bathroom and maybe re-tile the kitchen.. :)

They went home

Siew Lee & family, and my mother in law left this morning. We went to "Fisherman terrace" for dim sum before sending them off to the airports. They were here for 2 weeks, but basically spent the 1st week getting sick. Poor kids and adults. Hopefully the next time they come, it'll be for moving here.. :)

Are we poisoning ourselves??

I went to this class at 7pm at this store I never know existed until today.. it's called "Galloway's". The class I went to is called "Scentimental Creations". We're making all purpose cleaning powder, window and glass shine, sunscreen lotions, and lip balm. We got to walk around the store while waiting for the lip balm to cool down. It was really nice. I learned so many things about the drugstore bought products which contains a lot of hazardous chemicals. I was so surprised and awed of so many "nasty" things big company put into their products. Are we poisoning ourselves and our children by slapping those lotions on our skins???

Candy, Sheila and I were saying that we should setup a meetup where we made batched of soaps or other stuff where we can take home afterwards. It'll be a fun meetup.
I learned that to prevent mildew and mold, we can put drops of tea tree oil on the places where mildew and mold usually grow and that can prevent them from growing. COOL!!

I bought a cassava chip at the store and some tea.

More Cakes

Huilee brought home more cakes today. Yummy... I haven't had the chance to taste them yet b/c I'm too full from eating Hotpot today for lunch and dinner.

Now I have my famous migraine again... if only I can chop off my head...

New Townhouses

Regular day with regular activities. Colin as usual was surrounded by girls. :)
Went to dimsum with Francis & Henny at the Red Star Restaurant in Marpole area. Ava was behaving badly again by throwing her now-famous-tantrums at the restaurant. I had to speed eat and took her to the car and waited for everyone to finish.

Then, we took siew & family to look at the new townhouse called "Hennessy Green". Ava was having a blast in the model home. She took all the display items and put them on. My surprise was she knows how to put the helmet on, and took the bat and also the baseball and played with them. Hm...

Huilee brought home cakes this week. I loved the marble cake.

Went to eat dinner at the Michigan Noodle House. Luckily no tantrums from Ava this time..
